AMANDA HAWTIN
Mandy began her professional life working for the University of Adelaide as a Student Advisor, and later as an Executive Officer. She completed her Masters in Business Administration over 10 years part time, and had three sons during this time.
Mandy decided to be a stay at home mum and student for 9 years while her three boys were pre-school aged. During this time she moved from Adelaide to Brisbane, then to Gladstone in Central Queensland, and in 2018 back to Brisbane.
Once returning to the workforce Mandy found it difficult to balance the inflexibilty of business hours and parenting, so she began to explore part time and flexible working opportunities.
One morning in April 2018 Mandy had the inspiration to join forces with her cousin Megan Potter, and expand Megan’s Personal Styling business by offering high quality makeup.
After researching several ready-made brands and manufacturers, both women decided to have their own makeup manufactured to their specifications in South Australia.
As a qualified makeup artist Megan knew about ingredient options and qualities, and the importance of colour. Mandy wanted Vegan products due to her seafood allergy. Cheaper mascaras and lipsticks sometimes contain fish scales (Guanine) and shark liver (Squalene), and she had experienced allergic reactions to these ingredients in the past.
Both women are extremely proud of MEGAN POTTER Cosmetics, and believe it to be the purest makeup and skin care available.
